Sustainability at
Riviera

At Riviera, sustainability is a natural and integrated part of everyday life — for all of us who work here and for you as a guest.

Meaningful sustainability work spans the entire spectrum, from small everyday initiatives to the overarching principles that shape how we operate the hotel. From a better indoor climate and smarter energy use to menu choices, procurement and reducing food waste.

Thoughtful choices made every day help make a difference, while also creating a great experience for everyone who visits Riviera.

Part of Norwegian Hospitality Group

Hotel Riviera is a proud part of Norwegian Hospitality Group (NHG), which works systematically to reduce its carbon footprint and develop more sustainable solutions across all nine hotels in the portfolio.

As part of the NHG family, we have the opportunity to inspire and learn from one another — always striving to become a little better than yesterday.

Through significant investments in energy-efficient heat pumps and smart building technology with sensors, energy consumption across the hotels is reduced without compromising guest comfort. At the same time, new solutions are continuously being tested and developed in collaboration with suppliers and partners to help drive innovation within the industry.

As a guest, you can also contribute

Small choices during your stay can make a difference when many people make the same thoughtful choices.

Four simple reminders:

  • only take as much food as you will eat at breakfast
  • hang up your towels if you are happy to use them again
  • turn off lights and the TV when leaving your room
  • charge what you need, then unplug chargers when finished

Together, we contribute to a more sustainable stay.

WeCare

Hotel Riviera is also a member of Strawberry and therefore part of its long-term sustainability initiative, WeCare.

Through WeCare, there is continuous work to reduce emissions, care for people and operate responsibly, with clear goals related to the environment, diversity and operations. The initiatives range from energy-efficient buildings and reduced food waste to a strong focus on inclusion and responsible supply chains.
